The primary task of any government is to take care of its citizens, without exceptions and limitations. But, unfortunately, in our country remain unheeded almost 13 million people. I'm talking about hard of hearing and deaf people. Every day they have to meet other people, to visit schools, hospitals, shops. How could they be? The interests of such citizens must protect highly qualified expert interpreter, which we have so far only three per thousand of the deaf. The interpreter is the only means of communication deaf man with the world of sounds and music, the mediator between him and the society, a kind of bridge that connects it and the world. In the West, the profession of gestures is extremely considered to be very prestigious and well-paid. Usually, one translator specializes in a certain area "language" and all life is improved in the selected profession. Interestingly, the language in some countries is considered the second state.
The first sign-language interpreters in Russia appeared in the times of the Empress Maria Feodorovna, then deaf practiced in the Soviet Union. But, as we can see, at the moment the situation with experts in this area is extremely poor. They are sorely lacking. Our state government is constantly working to improve the profession of interpreter, opens a special educational institution for the training of qualified specialists.
And in 2003 October 31, introduced the celebration of the Day of the interpreter.
The state has set himself a goal to improve the lives of deaf people, it should facilitate their adaptation and comfortable coexistence with others. You want the person with impaired hearing in any situation could hear, understand, and help.
