Cosmonautics day
April 12 celebrated world cosmonautics day. This date is associated the first manned flight into space, this day, in fact, was the beginning of a new era of human freedom, when he was able to overcome the limited terrestrial space, and went up to the unknown expanses of the cosmos.
In 1961, this April day at the cosmodrome " Baikonur» has been the launch of the first manned space ship ’East KC», the mission of the stay on Board of which associated with honour and risk, was entrusted to the Soviet citizen, major Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin. After strict selection, extensive training, a series of tests in the chamber, centrifuge, shaker, and other equipment for future cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first of the humans were still in the open space. The total duration of its flight was only one hour and forty eight minutes, but this time was enough to make a complete revolution around our own blue planet. The spacecraft, which was ruled by Gagarin villages on the territory of the Saratov region, and the astronaut used a catapult and landed near his vehicle.
Space pioneer became the Hero of the Soviet Union. Life Gagarin, full of heroism and valor, was broken during a routine test flight in 1968, when, according to the officially accepted history, he could not bring manned aircraft ’MiG-15" spin at too low altitude.

Today, space flight has ceased to be fiction and gradually turn from scientific research and military developments in the field of business and tourism. But that feat, which made more than half a century ago, our compatriot, turned the idea of a man about his place in the world, expanding the boundaries to endless space.
