Orthodox Easter
Easter holiday (Resurrection) ancient Christian holiday, main religious holiday of Christians. This holiday is connected with Jesus Christ's revival. Easter is a moveable feast and is made in different numbers, but it is obligatory on Sunday. Thus, Easter removes the related religious holidays, such as the Palm Sunday, Rise, the Trinity.
There is the following rule for calculation of date of celebration of Easter: Easter is celebrated on 1 Sunday after a spring full moon. The first full moon which came after day of a spring equinox means.
As we noted earlier, depending on day of Easter all passing religious holidays are celebrated:
- Lazarus Saturday;
- Palm Sunday;
- Holy week;
- Easter Sunday (Easter);
- Easter week;
- Ascension;
- Pentecost (Trinity Sunday).
