Roma day in Russia
Gypsies – unique people, with a mysterious history, but it developed its own culture with many traditions and customs. Few people know, 1971 was marked by the establishment in London of the unusual organization – the International Union of Roma, which was designed to preserve the identity of the Roma people from attacks from the outside and assimilation. At the same time at the world Congress of Roma was proclaimed a separate party, which United the people of that nationality living in all countries. It also adopted the universal symbols Gypsy States – the coat of arms and flag.
In celebration of Roma communities all over the world light up millions of lights symbolizing unity. One of the most beautiful traditions of celebrating so bright people is to run multi-coloured wreaths downstream flowing Czech river Vltava. This tradition is symbolically associated with a easily share of the Roma and their eternal journey in search of the lost ideal of the country, the eternal homeland of these amazing people.
Gypsies – is the common name for more than eighty different ethnic groups that have common historical roots. In different countries they have many names: for the Russians, Germans and Italians they are Gypsies, for the Spaniards - the Egyptians, for the French – Bohemi. However, the representatives of the people call themselves Roma.
