ENWorld animal day
There is a widespread belief that the degree of humanity of people is determined by their attitude towards animals. Back in 1931, at a Congress of the defenders of wildlife, it was decided to admit, on 4 October the International day for the animals.
Date October 4 was chosen. This day is revered in Europe as the memory day of the Holy father of the Catholic Church of St. Francis of Assisi, who is the divine patron of animals. In this day in many churches of the world held a special mass to celebrate the event.
Defenders of animals from around the world organize events, parades, festivals and charity events dedicated to the celebration of this day. In Russia it is gaining its popularity since 2000.
The purpose of the animal Day is to raise public awareness and raising the level of consciousness of people to our younger brothers, care about the environment and wildlife protection.
According to statistics, every third Russian family has a pet, which often is perceived almost as a family member. Let us in their holiday pay our animals a little more attention and give them a piece of our warmth and love!
