World Day to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings
July 30 residents of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and many other countries celebrate the World Day to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings. The first celebration was held in July 2014.
Every year, victims of trafficking are about twenty million people. Of which a third of people are working under duress, and the rest have a variety of sexual services.
Many of us think that slavery remains far in the past. But this is, unfortunately, not the case. Even today there are countries and societies in which slavery is widespread.
It was July 30 UN Secretary General delivers a message. In the world hosts various conferences and seminars on the subject of slavery and human trafficking. To assist the victims are organized many charitable events and exhibitions. Journalists, in turn, notify people about the struggle against slavery.
To this celebration of United Nations staff members are directly involved. Also participants of the event are: trafficking victims, activists of various organizations, parties and foundations.
The purpose of this holiday - to completely eliminate slavery and violence against people around the world. It is necessary to ensure that such violent measures against humanity were long gone and never recurred.
